Christmas at home 2009

This was our first Christmas at home in 2 years at Izzy's request. We were going to have the festivities at our home but our basement was and STILL is undergoing development. Thanks Jenn for having Christmas dinner at your house! Josie and Izzy got their much desired new ipods. Anthony got more duct tape to make more wallets and Nadia got some DS games. In my opinion, our family is so fortunate that next year I'd like to do something a little more than what we usually do for the less fortunate... Any good ideas?

The one fun thing we bought for ourselves was a (new to us) hot tub. However the company who moved it for us didn't winterize it properly and we ended up having to repair quite a bit from the damage. Once all set up, we are enjoying it, and the kids love to bring their friends over. Izzy and her cousins stayed in there for 3 hours straight! There's nothing like a soak in the hot tub and a view of the rocky mountains after a long day.

Glowing Hearts in Springbank

It was really cool going to the Springbank high school and seeing the torch relay. I even found myself getting a little teary eyed at the whole event.... watching the torch bearer running with the flamed torch, the kids rushing to get a better look, a certain reverence in the crowd, not to mention the music playing in the background, made for a pretty special event.

Nadias teacher was able to get some neat photo opportunities, my favorite was letting the kids hold the recently lit torch. I can't wait to glue myself to the TV and watch the best of the best!
